The East Broad Top built its own flatcars. This one, located in the Mt. Union yard just north of the Timber Transfer, is an example of the final steel flatcar design. Flatcars were used primarily to haul logs from the McKelvey Bros. logging operations, and for other large and/or bulky goods. One steel flatcar has been converted to a tankcar by permanently mounting a 2,000 gallon steel tank onto it. This tankcar is located in the Rockhill Furnace yard and operates on special occasions.
