The Aughwick Concrete Arch Bridge is
the second-longest bridge on the East Broad Top RR main line. It is located about 2 miles
north of Shirleysburg, between Mt. Union and Rockhill Furnace. It is one of the earliest
steel-reinforced concrete bridges in the USA. It was built in 1914 (or 1917) to replace
an earlier wood trestle bridge at this site. [click on any photo to see a larger view]
